I'm actually starting to wonder if Chavez's Maxima was faster than the Porsche and GT500 or if the Porsche and GT500 drivers saw Chavez's race face as they got closer and got too scared to pass lol....He kindof has that 'Pass me and I'll beat you down' look haha...

Good driving Chavez!

Great runs dude. Way to represent!

Thank you.

I'm still shocked he beat that Porsche. I have seen many GT500's in the mid 13's, but to see him walk a 911 TT with only clicking off a 12.9X. I wonder how novice the driver was? Those things are usually really fast out of the wrapping paper. Good kill either way.

He's not at sea level or anywhere near it although I thought turbo engines don't suffer as bad compared to NA at higher elevations.

Sea level, schmea level. I've been around the tracks for 15+ years now in several states and altitudes. A Maxima or an F-18 running 12.9's will never take down a properly driven Carrera TT.

When I was hunting down 11's in my SS I ran into a bone stock TT Carrera. I clicked off a 12.75 and he showed me tail lights.

I think he's getting such better starts because he's at an advantage with that FWD!

No, they still do. Maybe not as bad, but it's still there. Turbo still needs air, and there's less of it here.

In any case, this vid is turning into an internet sensation. Seen it on A LOT of non Nissan sites, and nothing but love, no hate.

Rowing those gears

FWD advantage over RR??

That POrSche should have beat him, but Senor Chaves was the better driver.

Both vehicles are at the same elevation, and both are turbo. Air density is irrelevant here. Of course 8 LPM from nana's oxgen bottle might help at your elevation.

Yeah, 1.2 million views? There aren't that many Maxima fanboys spread across the orgs, wow. Phenomenal video. I had to watch it a few times over to grasp the awesome.

@Nismology: Thanks for explaining why he didn't shift after bouncing it off the rev limiter a few times. The fact that he's shredding racing slicks at those speeds... Wow.

Edit: Watched Chavez shift a few more times. Phenomenal. Truly jaw-dropping shifts. Well raced, sir.

I love vids like this when the Sleeper that isn't supposed to win actually does, the next thing you read on Youtube is how the Mustang and Porsche lovers start defending their cars by saying stuff like "oh, that Stang driver doesn't know how to shift" or "that guy doesn't really know how to drive that Porsche".

There are always excuses.

Great runs
