2014 max vs audi a7 3.0T

So I was driving home and was sort of in a rush to get home. I took off from a red light not too agressive but rather semi agressive and I notice an Audi a7 behind me and he was up my rear to pass me on the right as soon as he cleared the one car on the right. As he did I stepped on it. from about I'd say 70 to 110 and he was walking me at a moderate pace with 2 people in the back seats. I was not content but whatever.

I got home and looked at the specs and the A7 3.0T is supercharged and makes 310hp 326 torque and is about 4200 lbs. So it only makes 20 more hp and its about 700lb heavier. How is it possible that he was walking me? At least I thought we would stay even. Anything I don't know about this Audi car?

If thread's in wrong place, please move, thanks.

This is wrong location but I would chalk up him walking you to their maximum torque being reached at a lower rpm vs a max having it at a higher rpm. Not sure if those things come standard with quattro but that would help too.

Under that smiley is another topic within this forum OR you could have posted it in the 'off topic' section. but technically no you should not discuss street racing (intentional or not) in the forums. yet is does occur sometimes.

I did forget to turn off traction control. Did feel car sort of like going but like lagging but did not see no traction control light on. Does this slow the car down?

Blame Nissan, the throttle cuts past 80mph...

Hold on hold on You mean to tell me that the car isn't at full throttle past 80???

I did say from the very beginning that this car is fast off the line but then not so fast once it gets to highway speeds. But I never suspected any deliberate tricks from Nissan like that. Can you elaborate on that please?

Prior to 30mph and after 80mph, ETC doesn't give you full throttle when the pedal is all the way down to help protect the CVT. You can get past this with an UpRev tune (ETC setting turned off).

Good to know, thanks.
That's a bunch of crap. This is a lease car so I'd just have to live with it for the next 2.5 years. NO more CVT's for me then. No wonder I felt what I felt past 80 like it wants to go but it not.

Will the dealer know the car was messed with if I get that UpRev tune?

More than likely Yes. Just as a comparison, Nissan can tell a GTR owner how many times they have launched that car. Which more than 2 or 3 times without driving a mile to cool down before another launch voids their warranty.

If its a lease and you don't intend to purchase I would not suggest you start modding. It may be something that can be "undone" but then you have to ask is it worth it. Check your lease agreement for details, I would almost be certain modifications would be covered as a no no.

Talk of street racing isn't allowed anywhere on this forum. Thanks.
