How can i make me Maxima sound better
I recently purchased a 2000 Maxima SE with the Bose stereo. Also, i purchased 2 12" coustic bass pump with a box and a 401se coustic amp that pumps out 200 watts to 2 channels. So the power to the subs should be good, but for some reason the bass didn't hit as hard as i expected. So i decided to take the 6in stock sub out, and use this as a port from my trunk. Still little results, except for the added ratteling. I am asking for adive of any kind, wheather it be strickly for the maxima or the equipment. Thanks

I basically have almost the same setup as you but my amp pumps out 400 watts...the bass hits soo hard I have to keep my gain levels below halfway and my bass level on the HU at -3 or less...I had to get the PAC AOEM-NIS2 kit to hook the amp up to the stock BOSE HU in order to get the power I needed..I believe if you get that it might solve your problem...it might be the same kit for you but you might wanna double check...heres the site www.affsave.com ..its under the FACTORY SOUND INTERFACE section

Couple things you can check:
1) If you are bridging the amp, is the impediance the same output that the subs are said to run best at?
2) Could your amp be rated at 200W X2 peak? If it's peak, then you are realy only running 50W at each speaker, which may be less than you anticipated.
3) Sounds silly, but when you hooked it up, one speaker might have the negative in the positive clamp. This would cause the sound waves to sort of cancel each other out, and possibly sound quieter than it should.
Hope any of these ideas help.

Or buy a turbo, with a real loud BOV... that makes the max sound much much better.
