EVAP canister purge control valve/solenoid valve

OK Round #3.
Ive had this ecu code for 3 months now.
EVAP canister purge control valve/solenoid valve

No one can seem to help me out though. I drive a 95 Maxima, AUTO, SE.
-There are 3 items.

1- purge control valve
2- solenoid valve
3- purge solenoid valve

-There not behind the rear wheel at all
- I cant find them under the hood, BUT i do see the canister.
- I do follow the canister but theres actually a little round thing on top of the canister. 1 hose goes to something near my EGR parts.
The other hose goes to the tb or in some part of it.

ANY HELP IS APPRECITAED.

btw, the online chiltons manual<--i ve seen/read the entire thing, yet still WHERE it Points to UNder the Hood. NOPE, not there

>I did find this electrical part with 2 hoses connected to it. Im not sure which one it was but i did clean it off and put it back on.it was close to the front , on the right next to the head cover.

Diagnostic Trouble Code 0807 does not appear in the '99 Maxima factory service manual, and that is my principal information source. I'll tell what I know about the '99 Maxima EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve. This information may or may not apply to your Maxima.

The Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve uses an on/off duty cycle to control the flow of fuel vapor from the EVAP canister. Diagnostic Trouble Code 1008 is set when the Engine Control Module (the computer) detects an improper signal through the valve. The problem is likely to be in the electrical wiring, harness, or the valve itself.

Check fuse #58 (10 amps) and replace if necessary.

The CPVCSV is easy to see and reach. It is located in the engine compartment, mounted to the top of the upper intake manifold. Notice the Vehicle Serial number stamped into the firewall. Put your finger on the third-from-last number. Move your finger three inches toward the radiator. That's the CPVCSV. It has one two-wire electrical connector and two vacuum hoses.

You may test the valve. This test procedure is performed with the engine off. Remove the electrical connector and both vacuum hoses. Fasten a length of clean rubber vacuum tubing to either nipple. Gently blow through the hose. The valve should be closed and it should be difficult or impossible to send air through the valve. Now use a pair of fused test leads to provide 12 volts to the electric terminals. The polarity doesn't matter. With the solenoid energized the valve should be open and it should be easy to send air through the valve.

For a '97, the EVAP canister purge control valve is located on top of the intake manifold (upper), to the left of the TB when looking from the front, and just behind the throttle cable adjustment. It's a black round plastic part in a holder similar to the kind that holds the fuel filter. It has 3 vacuum hoses going to it.

To test (from '97 FSM):
1) Blow air in ports A, B, and C and ensure that there is no leakage.
2) Apply vacuum to port A (approx -3.94 to -5.91 inHg). Then blow air in port C and ensure free flow of port B.

When looking at the part in your hand, have the single vacuum port at the top left(port A). The larger port below A is C, and the port on the bottom right by itself is B.

About the only thing that can go wrong with this part would be for it to be stuck, or a leak in a vacuum hose.

The EVAP canister purge control solenoid valve is located next to the MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve. They are located to the right of the front valve cover (looking from the front), and underneath the big wiring harness. The EVAP is the one with a single vacuum hose coming from the top, and two from the bottom. The other is the MAP/BARO, which is the opposite as far as vacuum lines. The EVAP has a black connector, and the MAP/BARO's connector is brown. There is a way to test the valve with battery current on page EC-231 of the FSM ('97).

Email or PM me if you need actual pics from my engine or pages from the FSM.

Keep in mind my car and FSM are both '97s, so your car may vary.

I replaced the valve and continue to get the 1008 code after ECU resets. Do I have to disconnect the battery.....

Is fuse #58 located next to the battery? (I'll have to check this)

Also, if I need a replacement harness, what would be the part number and where can I get this?

0807 and 0903

I got the 0807 and 0903 code. My CEL doesn't stay ON like all other codes. It's ON and OFF once a while, so i'm not sure what's the problem with my EVAP. Once a while, when I starts the car. The CEL could be ON and could be OFF. My ECU is spitting only the two codes.
