Anyone interested in Milled Intake Plenum?

Im making several gutted intake plenums for VG30E(ET) Maxima's. The stock intake plenum is filled with air passages that block alot of airflow in the intake manifold, the gutted plenums greatly increase airflow.

If anyone is interested, PM me for details. Im trying to see if i should make more of these, if people are interested.

IM's are very similar on the VG30E and ET. Both stand gains from milled out IM.

I think he is saying he can make them for VG30E and VG30ET engines. And yes, you should post this in the 3rd gen section as well, so people with GXE's (like me) can jump on this. on the price too! How much would this run us?

I was thinking around $350-$375, for a early 2nd gen Maxima manifold, and 300ZX manifold. Im thinking about a $25 core exchange, so -$25, so i have more plenums to mill.

There are many hours of work involved in this mod, it takes about 6 or more hours to mill out the Intake plenum, but i also enlarge the Throttle body bore, to accept the larger 60MM TB's. Also polished ports, Im trying to figure out how to make a Lexan top, instead of the usual welded aluminum top, but both will be an option. Sooner or later I will have the equipment to anodize aluminum, so i can anodize a whole plenum.

I will have to pull a 3rd gen intake plenum to check out the insides, and see what there is to mill out, cause there dosent look like there is much gain in milling out a 3rd gen plenum because its a dual plane manifold, much like the VG30DE (Z32 300ZX, J30). The whole goal in the 2nd gen manifold is to remove the baffle between the ports to increase airflow. in the 3rd gen im not sure how it's built. I will stop by the bone yard and pick up a 3rd gen plenum.

I will have to talk to one of my friends, he told me that some people on Z31.com or NICO did a flow chart of the different milled manifolds. The milled Maxima VG manifold flowed the best, then the 300ZX milled manifold. From what i've seen, these flow better than the Pathfinder IM's, which is very nice, cause of hood clearance issues!

Here's that flow data info you're talking about.
http://www.redz31.com/pages/plenums.html
The maxima plenums gutted out do flow slightly better than the gutted z31 plenum, mostly due to the straight shot off the TB as compared to the offset of the z31 TB.

You should check with engloid on z31.com to see if your cost estimate for the work is high enough. He pioneered the mod and never seemed to be able to make the process commercially viable.

I've ported my entire 3rd gen intake plenum, TB, Plenum adapter plate, LIM, along with the heads....Everything is port matched as well I removed enough material to get a good velocity no turbulence but in no way gutted out! Velocity is my friend!
