Horns...security system...keyless entry...

My '87 wagon has been parked since September--heater core blew, haven't gotten around to replacing it so the car will likely stay parked in the garage another month or two before it warms up.

But before that, I was having an issue with the fuse blowing that handles security system, keyless entry and horns. Basically, I'd hit the horn and the fuse would blow and take the keyless entry beeping/keypad lighting and security system with it. Do horns go bad? Could bad horns cause this? I did change out the steering wheel for a leather wrapped color matching 200sx wheel (looks the same as early SE wheels, just grey) but I don't think that's the issue...it had happened a couple times with the old factory wheel as well.

Yes, horns do go bad. There is a solenoid/electromagnet inside that makes the horn work. Moisture eventually gets inside and that's the end of the horn.
