1987 Maxima: Need help please!!!
Hello everyone! I have some questions.
1: What's this capped vacuum port connect to? It branches off from a bigger hose that goes to the brake booster so it must go somewhere else.
2: What does it mean that I've failed the "Pressure Test" if my Evaporative System passed and my "Fuel Cap" passed?
3: Would the capped vacuum port possibly be responsible for the pressure test to fail?
I can't seem to find a vacuum diagram specifically for the VG30E in my '87 Maxima anywhere online to see where that vacuum port leads too.
I have until the 31st of this month before my 30 day temporary tag expires and would like to figure these two challenges out before that.
Thank you!

Thanks Damon. I was told by another to check out the charcoal canister vacuum lines and apparently there are some lines that connect to the fuel tank neck? Also if you could maybe help me out by taking a picture of that line that branches off before the brake booster hose so I can find out where that goes, I'd appreciate that a lot.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

so that capped off port is RIGHT at the brake booster? i would leave it, someone capped it for a reason but make sure the cap still completely seals. i have never worked on a vehicle with a smaller line coming off of the booster, usually its one big vacuum line from the intake manifold to the booster and thats it
check ALL of your vacuum lines especially check the vacuum lines from the evap canister to the fuel tank. no half-a5s look either, thorough look for any cuts or knicks in the line. they can be hard to see. ive heard from some guys in the US that they failed their emission test and they had less than a half tank of gas at the time of testing then they went for a re-test with a near-full tank and passed. i know next to nothing about testing, but i assume they clamp one of the hoses to seal the system for the pressure test. make sure he clamps it all the way

Sorry for the delay. I had to go out of town and am not at home. I had my son out and check it for you. He said that a line runs from the booster along the firewall then runs to the bottom of the cruise control mechanism on the passenger side right behind the overflow for the radiator. So, it is vacuum for the cruise control. Sorry, no picture.
