The I 30 i have has a hard ride. Consumer reports says they have stiff jiggly rides.
i agree.

i have had OE Bridgestones and now Kumho 712 tires.
Anyone have any tires that give a smoother ride?

I'm in the same position. I bought my 2k2 GLE expecting a smooth ride and what I got was a loud and rough ride. I was looking at purchasing the Falken Ziex 512's in the 225/17/55 size but then I read about the Bridgestone Turanza LS-V in the same size. What do you all know about this tire and what do you think? Currently I have the Bridgestone Turanza EL42's on there in the 215/17/55 size but they're absolutely horrible.

Put the Falken 512's on.
I have 2k2 SE.

Great in the rain, dry.
Quiet yet good handling
Ran up the pressure to 34 PSI to help side wall roll.

I've had Continental Premier Touring 225-55-17 and they are very smooth and comfy on the highway....you just have to balance them VERY carefully ...

Don't forget to check your struts as well. Old worn struts produce a rough ride.

I replaced Pilot A/Ss for the Turanza LS-V's and it's like night and day....they are butter-smooth and soooooo much quieter that even my wife noticed the difference.

I cannot comment about the EL42's but the LS-V's are awesome tires....

How are the LS-V's in the snow is the big question?

Dunno......I installed them in early March, no snow here with them installed. It rarely snows here and when we go skiing in Mt Hood or Batchelor we take my wife's car so snow capability was not one of my concerns.

That said, the LS-V's tread pattern makes want to think they will be okay in the snow....they are great in the rain, too.

The inputs on the Tire Rack web site seems to suggest they will e okay in snow....
