Removing Side Molding = Snap

it's def. DIY - if anyones thnking about doing it. all you gotta get is a heat gun/or your mom's con air hair dryer...put it up to the molding and do sweeping motion by the tip of it. once it's gooy - get a flathead and peel it off lke 2". then grab it w/your hand and rip it off slowly. the sticker residue is the hardest part. get goof off or rubbing alcohol w/ the heat gun and heat it up, rub it w/ your thimb, and then use the goof off to get the rest off. it'll take a while but it looks a lot better.

Re: Removing Side Molding = Snap

i started doing it like 6 months ago. i got off the molding, and then started working on the glue. after about an hour on the driver door, i decided it wasnt worth it and put the molding back on.

Anybody got any pics of their finished product? I'm thinking about doing this, but, I'm not totally sure that it would look good on my car yet, so, I'm getting pictures to see if I want to do it or not?

I got mine done, but it didn't take me 6 months to do. Not even 1 hour, I just pulled them off, then I took my car to a autobody repair shop & he used this tool that connects to a drill & buffed it off!! Only took 1/2 an hour! Looks better w/o the side mouldings. I know I cheated, but hey didn't waste my afternoon on it

Well Soul Fly, I paid about $30 N.Z. dollars, so about $15 US. THe drill bit has a rubber sponge on it. If you do to a repair shop, they should have that tool there.

nope, I saw it after I had the car painted, it looked stupid so I had them put them on, plus mine arent faded, I feel the car needs that line to carry the front into the back

I do agree with u on what you said about ure car. It does look better with the side mouldings on. I had mine done b4 I got the spoiler put on. I still like the look of my car w/o them on.
