Ordered up a set of Rockford Fosgate's in 4x6 and 6.75 sizes.
We installed a inexpensive Dual and it does the stock speakers, with the power amp bipassed, are worthless.
No shocker as my oldest son blew them out years ago....
Wish us luck!

Bose system upgrade
So I am working on changing the system out on my maxima. The previous owner did most of the hard work by taking it to a audio shop, and having 3 blown speakers replaced with a set of 4. So now its a 4 ohm audio pumping car. The only problem was they used speakers that would sound like the crap bose ones did. So now I am upgrading those to Kenwoods. Front KFC-1095PS
Rear KFC-6995PS. The one thing I am interested in has anyone ever added tweeters in the front? I'll have 3-way speakers in the front doors, and 5-way speakers in the rear.

Dual Antennas like Bose setup
My car had the Bose system stock, replaced by the PO with a crappy head unit and the speaker amps are bypassed.
But my question is about the antenna setup. The OEM antenna cable carries the in-glass antenna AND the power-up mast antenna to the head unit. Does any manufacturer make a head unit with dual antenna (diversity) inputs ?
I wish one of the antennas were in the front of the car (or a patch antenna on the roof) that would work better. I think the only advantage of the stock setup would be a little less sensitivity to the 'mast isn't up yet' issue when I first start the car.
