I have. Hope got new seals for the top of the windshield. Once you remove the side trimming then you can cut out the windshield.

The trim isn't the hard part. Unless you're a skilled "glazier" as I think they are called, or at the very least have the patience and correct tools, you're going to break the glass trying to cut it free.

Take it to someone who has said tools and the know how to remove and install windshields properly. It'll probably run you about $100 in labor, which is about the same as an insurance deductible for replacing a cracked one. So if you don't have comprehensive, it'll still cost you about the same. Keep in mind though, any shop that does it isn't going to guarantee they won't break the glass, so it's possible you'll be paying someone $20 or so to ruin a perfectly good windshield.

I watched the guy install my civic windshield a few years ago. It took him a lot of effort to get it out, but he had this special tool with like a 5-6" wire cable with a T handle on the end and on the other end it had a very sharp hooked blade. He was really going to town on it (force wise) and I was terrified he was going to slip and gouge my freshly painted car, but he didn't and other than the physical work on it the tool seemed to work very well. I discovered weeks later in my engine bay that he actually forgot that tool and miraculously it hadn't fallen out or into my belts or anything. Anyway, I kept the tool and plan to use it on my black car to remove the glass when I paint it

i believe you'll need to buy a new top seal...the best looking is probably your OEM nissan one..but there are generic looking ones out there.

reusing the old one doesn't look all that great.

to the OP...if you're pulling the window out in the hopes or reusing it then you have to go reallllll slow and take your time. sharp blade helps a lot also.

Yes, you need the one that goes on the body and the one thats on the glass. Both seals join together once installed. The side trimming are screwed on so those will be easy and are re-useable. The generic ones arent all that great but if you are tight on cash or cant wait for the new OEM seals to arrive then generic it is.
