I just purchased a woodgrain steering wheel for my '00 I30t, before I try and attempt to swap it, are there precautions I need to take? Detailed instructions I need to follow? I don't want to blow up the airbag or set off the SRS light or screw up the SRS computer module. Any help will be appreciated.

It is really quite simple.

If you disconnect the negative battery cable first before doing anything else, you will be fine. Whatever SRS connections are opened/closed after this point does not matter, as long as they are all reconnected before placing the negative battery cable back on.

You'll also need a torx T-50 TAMPER PROOF bit to get the air bag out.

The wheel was designed for I35 but you can find them for I30s on eBay I don't think they are OEM parts though!
