Clay bar didn't remove water spots

I used a Meguiars clay bar to try to remove some water spots on my paint but it didn't work very well. The paint is smooth but the water spots are still there. Any ideas on removing the water spots? thx

Do you have a PC? If so, I would try a light abrasive polish and see if that works. Personally, I am partial to PBs and would try SSR1. If that doesn't do the trick, then I think your problem runs deeper than water spots.

You could probably do this by hand too although it would be A LOT more work.

yeah water spots arnt something that a clay bar will take out, you're going to need to use some sort of polish on it

if your gonna try by hand give Meguire's #9 Light Swirl Remover a try, you're gonna need to bust your *** to work it in without a Porter Cable though

Try 50/50 water vinegar before anything. Removes waterspots that arent etched perfectly

I had the same problem. I used the Meguiar's clay bar w/the Quick Detailer, water spots faded, but were still there.

I had to use the Meguiar's 3-step system after the clay bar to get rid of the water spots:

(1)paint cleaner, (2) polish & (3) Carnuba Wax

No more water stains. If that doesn't work, the 50/50 water & vinegar solution is a method that was suggested too.

Good luck. Depending on your time and how much you want to spend, you might want to try the water and vinegar first.
