What kind of OBD plug in is on the 1995 Maximas?
I have a 1996 maxima and my OBDII connection is right under the steering wheel. But, my friend's 95 CEL came on and he asked me to use my scanner to check the trouble codes. I went to plug in the scanner. There is not a plug-in on his like mine. Is the plug different and located in a different spot? Thanks.

if your friend maxima was made in late 94 it will not have a connector.. my 95 GXE was OBD1 and did not have a scanner port

Thanks! Now I can get the high school kids who work at AutoZone who are not very knowledgeable (at least around here) to pull the MIL code. These geniuses told me I have an OBD I and they don't have any of the old code readers around.
Knowledge is power! Thanks to Maxima.org forums (and Jime) for setting me straight. Have a great day!

One is for OBDI and the other is for Consult. One is in the Fuse panel, the other is under your steering wheel. I believe the one under your dash is for the OBDI scanner. All the OBDI cars had separate ports for the Consult and regular OBDI. They changed the Consult plug sometime later so that there is only one diagnostic port.... Cost effectiveness for Nissan.
