when you leave the doors open for long periods of time they go off try closing the doors and see if they come back on I don't think a fuse is blown..

If I can remember correctly (because I don't have my '95 anymore), the fuse is marked "int. ill" on fuse box cover. The fuse is a 7.5 amp fuse located on the top middle row in the fuse box. Keep pulling fuses, until the interior lights go out. Once you find the fuse, and it appears OK, then you might have a problem with that particular door that doesn't work right. You may have a problem with your Body Control Module.

Nope, I have the same problem on my 96. My driver's side door lamp has quite working. I have tried over 6 different bulbs with no luck. I am gonna take my multimeter to it one of these days, after I get done with my current project. If worse comes to worse, I will just have to trace down the wires and patch/rewire new wires......

i'm having the same prob with the passenger door. Multimeter showed nothing. I'm gonna dig deeper, I know in the door itslef there is no inline fuse, i'm thinking maybe within the dash, i'm gonna check the door switch see if theres something in there

Forgive me for bumping an 11-year-old post, but I'm having the exact same issue and rather than rehashing the same things that didn't work for OP, I was wondering if anyone knew what the fix to this issue was?

When I ground the bulb to a bolt, the bulb lights up faintly. The housing seems to be pretty much all plastic, so I didn't think it was getting ground from anything but one of the two wires. Tried the fuse, all other interior lights work, al other door electronics work (DS door). I get like 47mv when probing 2 contacts with multimeter without grounding to a bolt (which gets 12v on red wire).

The courtesy light on the driver's door is powered by the window switch panel, believe it or not. The other day I removed the door panel and was surprised to see that the light didn't come on until I plugged the window switch panel back in. There is supposedly a CPU in that panel, and a short at the lamp can blow it out. The only repair is to replace the whole panel.
