aftermarket speakers question (I am positive this got covered before)

SOOO I searched but did not find anything specific to my question I apologize if there is something out there..

I have an aftermarket head unit with the amp intigration wiring. Can I install new 6 1/2s by splicing it into the old speaker wires with no issues? I know with the bose head unit you couldn't do that.. So just wondering.. Thanks in advance.

yeah you should be able, just label your wiring for the polarity all speakers when you turn them over in your hand the + will be on the right just note what color wire was on that side and splice it to the connection on your new speaker

is that datdude's grill?

When I did speakers I just ran 18 gauge speaker wire separately and soldered it onto the factory rears, clipped into my pioneer coaxial front speakers and into my head unit. Its easier to run your own wiring and it will sound better with the bigger gauge.

Not a fan of the upper and lower grilles but clean whip nonetheless.

To the OP - I hate to tell you this but you were given a short answer. If you buy cheap speakers sure, as a blanket statement.

I am putting in 5 speakers and 2 amps and a HU which cost just under 2k. (Which is nothing in the way of a good system.) I will have to replace the wiring. So, where you might be fine, I would say do your install correctly and make sure your specs are correct. If you do not know what you are doing and insist on installing them yourself at least tell us which speakers you are putting in and how many watts at what resistance you will be using.

Those are the speakers. The only reason I am replacing the fronts are b/c the front right is blown pretty hardcore.

Here is my HU

I thought with wiring just wire it into the stock wiring? The only reason I am replacing anything is b/c the stock hu display + cd player quit working and like I said the stock bose unit poo'd out.. Not looking for greatness just looking for decentness.. It already has the amp intigration thing for the cd player
