Injen CAI - Wet weather driving

I just wanted to share my experiences with my new Injen RD CAI. First off I wasn't sure about adding a CAI to my max because of all the horror stories I heard about water ingestion into the engine, but I couldn't resist adding almost 12hp to my 5-speed.....
For the first week the CAI was a monster out of the box. between 2k and 3k rpm the car sounded almost stock, but lay down the gas and at 4500k and redline thr monster growl from under the hood had heads turning from blocks up the street......My car pulls real strong from 2nd gear thru 4th....I was really glad I took the plunge and installed it....
The start of the second week is were my happiness fades and fear sets in, because there is heavy rain in the forcast for 3 straight days, so I had a few choices:

1) Leave the car home and bum a ride to work
2) Stay home, use up sick days
3) Take the chance and see what happens

So of course I chose number 3. I was at work when the heavy rain pured in I looked out the window at my car sitting in the parking lot thinking I hope nothing bad happens on my way home......anyway....its quiting time and run to my car start the motor turn on the wipers,etc,etc.........take a deep breath and shift into 1st gear and pull out of the parking lot, at that very moment the rain came down at its worst........a big lump is in my throat as I shift from 2nd to 3rd gear.......after 20min of driving thru heavy rain and road puddles I reached home safe and sound. before turning off the motor I revved it up to hear the roar of the Injen CAI......I have conqured the rain.....day 2 and 3 was the same as day 1 the rain was heavy, but Ihad no problems with my CAI....
P.S.. I have no Bypass value installed......

You can drive when it's raining, that's no problem. If it was they wouldn't of made the product. It's only when you go through puddles that you "could" have a problem.

im surprised my max is still running, yesterday i drove over alot of pretty big puddles, i lost control on one and the guy in front of me too, it was like 15 ft of cement with like a huge amount of water, i was so scared, braking didnt work untill i got on to semi-dry land, im just happy that it was a straight road and the car in front of me was a good distance from me, that was the only problem i had, i went through a ton of puddles and the car didnt even slip or lose control, im so glad that i got some big rims and good tires with them

I am the same way. I am always swerving to avoid any puddle I can. And if it really starts coming donw I usually try to pull over and wait for it to slow down, Just for my peace of mind.
