Help..too many codes

Hi,

I just finished replacing the knock sensor, oxygen sensor (right front), PCV valve, cleaned the throttle body and after I erased the codes just this morning, a few moments after driving I get new codes:

0503 Oxygen right front sensor (again!!)
0201 Ignition coil and transitors
0606 Cylinder

What's going on? the 0606 puzzles me and I don't know what to do next, besides bring it to a mechanic. I do notice that the ride is very jerking, at a stop sign the cars sounds like it's choking (but it doesn't stall), when I accelerate it feels like it hestitates on and off. It idles at 6,000 rpm at the stop light..Even when I'm going at 40 mph the car is jerking back and forth as if it can't get enough fuel.

I was going to try and replace the fuel filter next, but the codes are distrubing.

Any help??

thanks

Did you look up each of the codes in the ECU sticky and exactly what they mean?

There is no such description as "Cylinder"...

the 0606 code is a little difficult to understand:

0603 0604 0605 0606 0607 0608
If one cylinder is misfiring the problem is spark or fuel. A misfire due to a spark problem usually results in a Service Engine Soon light and one of these Diagnostic Trouble Codes:
0608 - Cylinder 1 misfire
0607 - Cylinder 2 misfire
0606 - Cylinder 3 misfire..

Have you replaced the plugs recently?
Are you using either NGK copper or platinum plugs?

You have a misfire in Cylinder #3 - which could be a bad plug, bad injector or a bad iginition coil. Thats why you have the 0201 too. Those are a set - ignition failure, and because of that ignition failure, you got a misfire. Since the misfire was in Cylinder #3, that tells you coil #3 is bad.

You also have a bad O2 sensor - replace that O2 sensor too. You claim to have replaced an O2 sensor - which one did you replace? The code you have is for the front right back O2 sensor - the one on the y-pipe closest to the firewall.. is that what you replaced?

Hummm yes the plugs were just changed to NGK copper ones and yes the front right OS was replaced just last week..I suspect as you suggested cyclinder #3 is misfiring...

Which one is cylinder #3?

Thanks

Cylinder #3 is them middle on in the right bank (i.e. the bank closest to the firewall).

i hoped neither one of u dropped the knock sensor by accident, otherwise the knock sensor would not function right and will send false messages to the ecu.

unfortunately yes. try sticking the ohmeter testers into the actual harness and to the inside ring of the knock sensor.this test should give a different reading for continuity testing.....make sure you are on mega ohms.

As I was about to replace the cylinder 3 spark plug I noticed that the harnest (that thing that clicks) wasn't properly inserted..I removed, unclicked it off, clean it somewhat and reconnected it and viola it worked!!!!

Phew..erased the codes and so far in the last 30 minutes all is okay.

Thanks for everyone's help in pointing me in the right direction.

so what your saying is, that if we dropped a KS and broke it. but it didnt seem like we broke it, and we installed it. the ecm will recieve false information from the KS? i always thought if something was broken, it would be sending the correct information to the ECM as if the sensor were broken.
