The entire assembly is part number 1111925-31U0C
$59.00 at nissanparstzone.com
$67.50 at courtesyparts.com.
$78.00 list price.

The fact that you broke it says that you were probably doing it wrong. To adjust the tensioner assy, you first loosen the bolt in the center of the pulley, then turn the adjusting screw and lastly re-tighten the bolt in the center of the pulley.

Ok! So I contacted boneyards, and the closest one in location is in Iowa, and will not be here till tomorrow evening, and I have to be out of town for wedding. I removed the pulley bracket for the tensioner, and cut the threaded rod that holds the tensioner in place. With me so far? I used my good old bridgeport, and milled the a$$ end of the open arm to have a clean tig welded threaded round-stock on it. What I am asking from you gentlemen what is the size pitch of this thread for the rod that puts tension on the pulley? Im going to use (drill), not drill bit, there not called that anymore in my field, and get the piece out, and BAM! Like Emril wa-la.......

Milled-drilled, and chasse with a tap-weld threaded round stock tig style!!!

How to bypass the A/C pulley

How to bypass the A/C pulley

Go to O’Reilly Auto Parts and get a 36” inch 6 rib belt. The model at O’Reilly is K060355. If you go to Napa or anywhere else, tell them you need a 36” inch 6 rib belt, or use the number 060355 as a part reference number to find that store’s particular belt that will work.

Step 1:
Remove passenger side front wheel.

Step 2:
Pop the hood and look on the front left side of the engine for the tensioner. Loosen it.

Step 3:
Go to the wheel-well where you removed your wheel, and slip the belt off.

Step 4:
Unplug the wire harness on top of the A/C compressor. Zip tie it to something so it doesn’t get caught in something when the car is running.

Step 5:
Put the new 36” inch belt on. The pulley route should have the belt going over the crankshaft pulley, under the idler pulley, and over the alternator.

Step 6:
Tighten the tensioner.

Step 7:
Put your wheel back on.

Welcome to the forum Mike. When I did this on my '95, I bought this belt from NAPA auto parts, and it worked perfectly:

http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...355_0394181035

It is a 920mm 6-groove belt.

No problem. a 33in belt might be on the short side. If I were you I'd not go any shorter than 36". If you have an Autozone near you you can also get this one, which is 36", 6 grooves. It was also reported to fit perfectly by a user on this site:

http://www.autozone.com/external-eng...lt/361105_0_0/

Advance Auto Parts also has this one, which is 37" and was also reported to work:

Haha no problem man, I did the same thing when my AC compressor started making noise, because I was quoted around the same price as yours to replace the compressor, w/ a recharge of refrigerant. Quick easy fix with the belt, and I figured I'd just deal with the compressor headache later

Mine was making an annoying noise to that's why I dropped it off. Personally I can deal with no ac. Just want my car mechanically good to get back and fourth to work for right now. Will bypassing it cause any other mechanical probs to idle pulley or any other part like the alternator etc?

Nope, no problems at all. You can run it like that as long as you want without harming anything. If you don't need A/C, then you can run it bypassed until you get the itch to get a new car

No problem bro, glad to have been able to help. Sounds like a good plan. As long as she's able to get you around safely until you're ready to upgrade, that's the priority. One thing's certain, when you get your new max you'll be set as far as technical questions / maintenance if you keep lurking around this site. This is a great place; there's so much information and quite a few knowledgeable people willing to help you out. I can honestly say that I learned everything that I know about cars from this site! I don't even own my maxima anymore but I still come here to read and help out if I know the answer to a question

Thanks, I hope you have a great weekend as well

Why do you have to unplug it if the belt won't be on the pulley anymore?

It's a just-in-case safety thing. You should be able to leave the plug on, but just in case something might go wrong with the clutch, unplug it.

You need a belt that is 920mm or 36.25" in circumference. It can be a little longer or shorter as the tensioner will take up the slack.

Read post numbers 24, 40, 87, 92,94 & 104 for various part store part numbers.
