HELP Needed. ... Car won't start
I stopped at a liquor store this afternoon and when I got back to the car it wouldn't start. Wouldn't crank. Something electrical. When I turn the key, the relays next to the fuse panel click as if I didn't press the clutch (I'm not sure it is the same relay are clicking) and nothing happens. Any suggestions? I checked the battery and it was fine.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just got home to get the tools. I'm sure the battery is fine. It's only 1 month old and the lights are bright when I turn them on. I'll check the voltage though. I go through the fuses and next thing is the starter. Do you thinkl it's a good idea to try disengaging it from the flywheel and try turning the ingition on to see if it turns?

Good call. I tried pulling the starter out and turning the ignition on. It rotated with some sparks comming out of it. I also notticed that the connector nut was a little loose on it. I guess it could've been some loose wires that got fixxed when I was pulling it out or the connector. Anyhow I didn't want to mess with it an 30 deg cold and whent to Autozone and got a new starter. Works fine now.
Thanks everyone for the help.

I have 99 maxima the starter starting to make this extended noise every time it start up since about 90k miles then at about 110k it just went out and won't start.. This is a known problem with the maxima.. i just replace the starter and it all good again and it is now 130k mi still going strong.

If you turn the key, but nothing happens, its probably not the starter. However, if the starter is making a grinding noise try this first. Just remove the starter, clean it and regrease it. The noise is eliminated and the starter should work fine.
If the key is turned, but nada, it could be the ignition switch harness which is above the steering column. This costs anywhere from $23.99 - $48.99, depending on where you buy it. It's easy to remove the steering column cover, the panel beneath the steering wheeel to get to and replace the harness. If it's not the harness, it might be the key swtich itself. This costs about $130 to replace.
