why? without doing an upgraded harness there is no point to running the 9007's. Your problem is that you bought ice blue lights. Ice blue lights suck. Colored lights do not put out good light. Blue does not cut through fog, or rain or anything really. You need a more yellow bulb. That will cut through better.

no. swapping the wires is just because 9007 sockets have a different wire pattern. That doesn't mean they offer anything better. 9007's just have different filaments that help put out a little more light. But the idea of upgrading them in the 4th gen is to make a harness that gets power from the battery to give them the extra power. Without the harness you're car is really still giving the same amount of power to the headlights. IMO headlights are a waste unless you retro them. I have upgraded 9007's and they are a pain. Yeah more light, but they don't aim well and they blind people. I'm switching back to 9004's with my upgraded harness until I retro. PIAA bulbs are brand name, just another headlight. You'll buy expensive headlights that will just burn out and not give that much power. Just stick to regular bulbs from an auto store. Or spend a **** load on PIAA bulbs...whatever you want.

would this mod really matter if I put a HID kit in? Should I get the 9004 kit or 9007 kit?

well i'm assuming you're getting an ebay kit. Most of them suck anyway and will burn out soon. But the kits are made based on a plug and play idea. HID kits are kelvin so 9007 and 9004 don't matter. It's what they will plug into.

well i'm not telling everyone to not do it. I'm just saying that it's really not that great. I have it, and I can't see **** in the rain. Light output is a little better but my lights can not be pointed down. I've never been able to aim them well so I'm not getting the best output I could. Some people do not have that problem. But as I said, if you aren't going to upgrade your harness then 9007's are a waste of time.

I would have to disagree. I did the 9007 swap by switching the wires over and grinding the nub in the headlight housing. The output was much better than my OEM 9004 (yes, oem.... yes 10 year old bulb). Maybe the bulbs were old but after I put the new 9007 bulbs in, they were a lot brighter. I had to adjust the headlights down a bit but so far, I am 100% satisified.

If you're going HID's, you better go for the projectors or else you'll get some really nasty glare.

If you're going 9007 w/o the harness upgrade... good, but if you do upgrade the harness, then great. But don't waste your time/money on those cool blue bulbs.

i still think it's because you're going off of the old old bulbs. I had brand new 9004's really and decided to change over to 9007 years ago. Without the harness I didn't notice that much of an increase in output. Once I did the harness it was much more. I'm just going off of my personal experience but I still think upgraded the headlights isn't really upgrading until you retro. Changing bulbs is just changing bulbs. It won't make that much of a difference. It's all in the brain.

silverstars are ok. I used to buy them and have stopped. Not worth the money IMO. They burn out fairly quickly. But when they work out put is nice. Not good in rain tho. But it only rains sometimes so stick with them if you like them.

Basically if U want good lights Ur going to have to spend a little money around 300 if U do a retro Urself but I dont think there is a cheap way around the 4th gens lighting problem those new lights look good now but if U pull up next to a BMW or Lexus and try and compare Ur lights U will cry I found that out the hard way when I bought those PIAA
