Hit a Curb :( what should I look for?

Hey Guys,

well the unfortunate story goes like this :

today we had about 1inch of snowfall, just enough to cover the roads and everything, plus it was snowing just making it hard to see. I was just heading around to a friends house, in a neighbourhood Im not used to.

anyways just going down a street by a school (going about 35 - 40 km/h) I hit this curb or median, something that made a huge thumb and the front passenger side jumped. I couldnt see it but Im assuming it was jsut a curb that jetted out from the side walk a bit.

It blew my tire and now im in for getting an aliegnment (its way off), also my ball joint is shot.

Im just wondering what else I should look for that might be damaged

thanks in advance

ABS Sensor, if you have it and if the light came on. Check the LCA for bad denting/bending.

I hit a wall of ice once falling asleep behind the wheel, jumped the car, tore of the fender but otherwise no mechanical damage. My 91 max was a tank, I hope my 98 proves just as tough. I would keep an eye on your fluids for a few days to make sure nothing got knocked loose but otherwise any damage will either be obvious or invisible until you start getting noises. Good luck!

Always check your brakes. Lines, Rotors, pressure, etc...thats something that cant just 'kind of' work...

Thanks for the tips, The LCA seems fine, I took it to a suspension shop for an alignment, they said the ball joint was shot and an alignment would be worthless at this point, also they said the tie rod end is worn out completly. the LCA has a slight slight bend which he said isnt worth fixing.

right now when I go over bumps that side seems to make clunking noises, as if its bottoming out, and something seems to make a couple clanks afterwards, like something is loose and just knocking around.

Thanks

That seems like a bushing to me, Im pretty sure thats where my noise is coming from atleast.

But, I may be wrong.

that clunking noise is most likely your ball joint knocking around.replace that and the tie rod end and make sure the tie rod shaft isnt bent at all.have teh alignment shop check the other side as well.replace any front end parts that have play, have them check your air pressure and get that beotch aligned.
