you have to take out the rear seat, and remove the rear deck cover before you can unscrew them. It's the same procedure for bose / non bose:

Nice car man. always gotta love a tastefully done pebble beige

Its really not as hard as it sounds.

1. Run your hand along the bottom half front of the seat and you'll find a pull-out tab on each side. Pull them and lift bottom half seats out.

2. Remove 10mm(2x) bolts that hold backing of seat down(1 on each side). Lift out back of seat.

3. Remove rear deck-lid by first remove the child seat things that stick up(one is a 12mm, one is a 13mm, You'll see what I mean). squeezing your and under the deck and popping up the plastic rivots. There should be 4 IIRC.

Thats it. 5 min.

Forgot the rear pillars there that you have to remove as well. That's what makes the job a PITA. I was as careful as I could be and I still slightly cracked mine around one of the connectors on both sides. An additional step is removing the third brake light if you don't have a spoiler, but that's cake.

alright i did it!! it really wasnt hard just a little time consuming cuz i changed all 4 speakers. BTW i did have to remove the pillars because the rear deck had slots on the edges were the pillars mounted. job done and came out real clean and crisp..

Thanks for re-affirming what I said. I wonder if half the people on here that say "Oh, it's easy" have ever really done the job themselves. I had to remove my pillars as well. The rear deck would not come out otherwise. If anyone says "it can just slide out" obviously has never taken them out the first time because the deck is glued down.

Ok then, come see my car and I'll show you all the work I've done...I can pop my seats and rear deck out in about 2 minutes...without removing the pillars completely.

My deck wasnt glued down either.....

When you popped out your rear deck was there any marks where there was adhesive holding it down? Perhaps an owner before you had removed his/hers previously. Then again, perhaps the adhesive is only a 95 Maxima thing.

If I come see your car though, it's going to steal ideas from you. You've got a sharp **** Max. Sorry if the post I made earlier sounded a bit crass. I had just been reading some threads earlier this morning where some goofball had said that they could do a four hour job in 15 minutes and said it was easy, but never would provide details when asked, but would just talk about how simple a job it was. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning or maybe it's just that time of the month for me. Guy periods? Sure, why not.

Back deck removal (photo)

after the center brake light is removed with a little bit of wiggling the back deck pops right out, careful of the tabs on the left right rear there is a tab slot in the deck itself
