Installed a new sunroof...
So I installed a new sunroof(well used) in my 96 maxima. It works great, opens and closes, vents fine. My question is how do I adjust the height of the glass. I read the article at vq power an it says about adjusting the height but doesn't say how to do it. Any help or info is appreciated. Btw the glass sits just about a quarter to half an inch below the roof at the corners, the center seems to be a little closer.
Thanks

mine does too.. but mine was installed in japan at the factory :/.. i wanna make it flush with the rest of the roof. I read somewhere that there are spacers you can put. but other than that i dont know?

I forgot to add that if it's 1/2" low then you need to rebuild the sunroof because the hinge part of the track is broke. You should be able to push up on the glass if that's the case.

Yea it's half inch lower on both sides. I can push the roof up to be even but it just sags right back down. If the hinge was broke would it still function normally? And btw if I tap the vent it lines up perfectly. I hope this roof I just bought isn't defective

Yea maxima Joe the forgot to add part is exactly what I'm experiencing with the play in the roof and the 1/2 off. So it needs to be rebuilt then?

Just get a roof from a newer max like a 99. They redesigned the roof for the 98-99 models with a better track system. They dont fail as much as the 96-97. Its a day project. get a friend to come over and help. Also DONT get me wrong but i think its supposed to sit a bit low. JUST a tad bit. not FLUSH aganist the roof?
am i not correct?
My 96t just had its sunroof replaced with a 98 sunroof and it sits a tad bit lower in the back. I thought they were like that. I didnt think they were perfectly flush. Hmm maybe Ill look into shimming it up a bit. DAMMIT... this can be done on the car no?
those bolts as accessible from inside the car?

It sounds to me like the forward-most travel of the roof needs to be adjusted which would normally entail adjusting some limit switches which would stop the motor when the roof gets to the correct position. This can be confirmed by taking off the access panel to the motor and cranking it using the appropriate tool. If it can be cranked a half turn or so and that brings the panel to it's proper position then that's the problem.
