My new Lights!

Well, ive been working and waiting for 2 weeks to share this. I got my new lights setup done finally. I installed Clear Turns, Led bulbs in the corners, upgraded to 97+ housings fitted with 8000k HID's, and Im adding some custom Eyelids tomorrow. Heres some pics. Theyre all phone quality...

(I photoshopped the eyelids on this one.)

(Before I angled them way down to eliminate glare)

(Sorry for poor quality. Blackberry's cant be good at everything lol)

Yea haha. The worst thing was, I drove to my HS football game last night not thinking. When I left the area was littered with cops directing traffic. No one said a word about the mis aimed lights tho lol

It's good that you're not blinding the **** out of everyone lol. But please put the eyelid over the headlights and corners, not just the headlights.

I dont have the time/money to retro fit and didnt wanna put HID's in the r34's without a retro.

I got my 97+ housings for 65 with shipping so it was cheap and easy.

If I could have retro's like yours for cheap haha, id be on board all the way, yours look amazing

This is what you should do..
-Add eyelids over the corner lights.
-Change amber in the bumper lights to white.
-Get rid of the aftermarket fogs.
-Keep the '95-'96 front bumper.
-Get OEM fogs.
-Add a Stillen front lip.

My sig FTW.

Yes and no. I originally liked the 97+ better but there's just something about the 95-96 front end that I really like, especially when its a real clean Max. I love my front end and I wish it were in better shape. the FX35 retro sure makes the front end look a bit more aggressive. I like both the 95-96 and 97-99 hence why I have both

Yeah looks good. I say you get the 97-99 bumper but keep the 95-96 grill

Yea, theyre illegal everywhere, even if you retrofit projectors. The way ive got mine, theres no glare to oncoming traffic and they dont light up the inside of the car in front of me, theyre aimed way down and the eyelids helped reduce any glare

I'm not telling him to copy me lol I just like the '95-'96 front end better and it's more original for sure. I also think it looks extremely weird with eyelids only over the headlights. OP, definitely lower your car soon like we discussed.

The eyelids don't reduce glare because the reflection comes from the bottom of the headlight. Aiming them waaaay down won't help because now you'll have a ton of foreground light reducing your distance vision.

Thanks, the 3m tape really turned out nice I thought. I used an HIDExtra Kit, 8000k.

Yea, im working on saving for my suspension. My dads gonna pay half of it. But I need surgery in October so my parents are gonna pay that before my suspension lol.

Camera's over exagerate glare when taking pictures of light...... My lights produce nearly zero glare to oncoming drivers.

My distance vision is fine, as shown in my pics. Eyelids DO help by covering the top of the headlight, where the most glare is seen...

eyelids do virtually nothing as queenambeach said aiming them is not taking that much glare away from oncoming traffic. i have retro's and they're an aimed beam of focused light and not just bright azz bulbs.

The eyelids helped alot, i could stare at the light with them on, without them i couldnt from the same distance and angle.

I originally wanted to do this myself but after I read somewhere that there is a space between the bumper and the grille, I knew it wouldn't look right. Unless someone has a pic of this and say what needed to be done to get rid of the spacing..

The only reason your distance vision is fine is because you're glaring down the road. Hey bro, I'm not knocking you, just informing you that whether you accept it or not, your headlights are a glare factory. Don't believe me, post a beam patter picture and see for yourself.

I realize they produce glare. Im not questioning that, Ive seen plenty of HID's that are glare factories. However, seen my headlights from the view of an oncoming car, the glares not bad at all. I guess theres no real way to prove it lol. But yes, i agree that projectors are the way togo if funds allow.

As mentioned by Trini, it won't work well, it will but it'll look bad with a gap. I have a friend who really wanted a 95-96 grill on his 97 and I source one for him 2 years ago from the JY and it looked bad so we didnt bother leaving it on.

OP, retro is still the way to go but if you have eliminated glare good for you.

Would like to see some pictures by a wall.

This is infowire's maxima on the left with the single piece lamps and 6000k vs mine on the right with FX35 retro / ebay 4300k hid kit. His lights are aimed all the way down and notice the transformers looking reflection on the wall above his max lol

Notice the big transformers light pattern over both of our cars all coming from HIS lights lol
