Not bad at all then. I only know some of this from my time as an installer at Car Toys in Plano. MECP exam stuff...but not the inner workings of an alternator, that's outside the job description. Good to know though!

Just an update, one year later and the alternator is still working wonderfully. Not a single issue.

i dunno where you saw that. any one ive seen says to remove the top bolts, then the a/c compressor, then the last long bolt.

also on that real tip, my top alternator bolt broke or something. **** is straight up GONE now. and i removed the rest of it from where it bolts to. but now my alternator is like an inch away from where that top bolt holds it to the engine.

yet it still runs fine with no noises and i didnt even notice until now... guess ill be ordering one of those bolts from courtesy.

has anyone tried to replace the alternator with one from the Z51 Murano (2009-2012) that one is 130amp vs the 110amp on the older gen murano?
Based on the part number search on Courtesy's parts list everything is the same...

Pulling those AC bolts can be problematic. So trust me - be careful - and if you search you'll find others, and of course me, who will tell you (on this forum) you do NOT need to move the AC compressor to replace the alternator. Rusty cars - those LOOOONG bolts though all that aluminum over 16+ years - they can really be stuck. I broke off all 4 heads, spent a couple months, etc., etc. I replaced my alternator without moving the AC compressor. I ended up cutting the AC pump bracket off replacing it then putting new bolts in. A little more than I bargained for on an alternator swap.
Corrosion sucks.

imagine me finding this after the fact. i actually found this thread through google images of all things. i thought about the 160 amp but, 130 would really be the sweet spot. the more amps, the more the drag.

they sell Chinese 125 - 130 amps alts but, i'd sooner send it off for IMMEDIATE rebuild and testing a trusted local alt/genny/starter/farm equipment shop before using.

EDIT: put anti seize on the compressor bolts to help prevent dissimilar metal corrosion and aid in installation and removal!
