Oxygen Sensors

Greetings, I've read many threads on the oxygen sensor topic, but they were all more than several years old. I plan on swapping out all four sensors and wanted to know if the last couple of years shed any new light on the topic.

I am installing new plugs (ngk) and new coil packs and want to the the oxygen sensors as well. Please chime in on you opinions regarding brands and the best places to shop for them. Thanks!

Why are you replacing them? They are not part of general maintenance.
If your car is running fine, not throwing any emission related codes and gets good MPG then the only thing your doing is lightening your wallet. The two sensors after the cats do absolutely nothing to FI management, they only monitor the catalyst efficiency.

1 don't do it.

2 If you really have a bad one get it at rockauto.com for $50 shipped. The Standard part I got there was made by NTK.

I've always bought mine from oxygensensors.com. You can get them with the matching connector, which simplifies the process. (I don't know if rockauto is the same.) One time I placed an order and someone called to tell me they didn't have the brand I ordered, was it OK to use a different brand at the same price. Not too many sellers will go to that much trouble.

The front bank and rear bank o2 should be changed when mpg goes down (their voltage doesn't oscillate correctly) or you throw a code. I usually get mine from ebay $28 a piece. I have had this car since 01' and have never had to change the o2 by the cat. I'm currently at 190k miles.

If you do not have code, don't change them. I like rockauto as well.

Rockauto, and Denso's are fantastic. BUT like everyone has said, this is not "tune-up" worthy or part of regular maintenance. ONLY change if you are throwing a code. I have 236k miles and only replaced them ONCEa few thousand miles back because of a code.
