can a coil pack spring go bad?

Hello,

I'm getting 1.5 + ohms from the coil pack,.the boot isn't chewed and the plug had less than 5k on it. Everything is tight. Ran around the block fine, but hit misfire on the way to work this morning. Only thing I can think of is the spring. Any advice would be much appreciated. The coil pack is Hanshin

Pull the boot/stalk out of the coil. Look for corrosion on the coil pack contact and spring.
I've never had much success of saving the coil even after the corrosion was all cleaned up.

Okay, thank you much. For all I know, that coil is factory with over 200 k on it, it's a 96.

It should not go bad, unless it rusted and broke.

They go bad over time, especially the rear ones (cylinders 1, 3, and 5) due to heat breaking down the insulation. Millions of (internal) lightning stirkes and heat over hundreds of thousands of miles will take their toll.

If you have 3 coils and one reads a lot different than the other 2, I think you have a bad coil.

They all read 1.5+ on that side. The.99 was a defective new one. Mailing back for replacement
