neg cable grounding
I have a 99 se auto and i was going to replace my neg cable because it was corroding which i think is original ..So i was going to buy a neg cable the one that just connects to the battery and ground point on the trans ,but can i buy a wire maybe same gauge to connect to wheel well behind the battery to the trans ground ? I know it will help start better and the problem is when the car is warm up and driven long it sometimes is hard to start..Well i know it could be other problem like crank sensor flaking out when hot or fuel pressure reg or air temp sensor ect,im trying to go slow to find the problem.. It start on a dime when cool but after driving alot and gets warm it sometimes hard to start...

That's nearly what I did when I installed hand made low gauge GND wires. My battery NEG terminal wire first goes to the wheel well, jumps to the AT GND bracket, then to a starter mounting bolt. I also added in a few solid higher gauge wires jumping from the AT GND bracket to the firewall, plenum, and right side chassis. Before adding those hand made GND wires I wire brushed all mounting surfaces. My 15 year old MAX starts within 2 seconds.
If you cannot make those wires yourself then buy 2 GND wires at a local auto shop. Replace the one jumping from the NEG terminal to the trans bracket and add on another one to a starter bolt.
