Need to reset radio after every start
'97 Maxima, and I think it has a Bose radio. Just getting this car working, and had to install a radio from another car. When I installed the radio, seemed to work fine, but the car had other issues. I had no turn signals, and someone pointed out that the turn signals worked through the emergancy flashers. Neferious previous owner had cut the wiring harness to the emergancy flashers, as well as the clock and rear window defroster, perhaps to get to the radio.
I reconnected all the wires in the three harnesses, and since then I have to reset te radio every time I start the car. Checked fuses, fuse number 40, 7.5 amp was bad, but it still happens. Chilton shows a fusebile link somewhere, but I haven't found ti yet, I think it's number 62 somewhere under the hood. Any guess what's missing?

Yes, please let us know if the radio is Bose or not. Fuse # 40 is not used by the Bose unit, but it is used by the optional CD player for the non-bose radio.
Also when you say reset the radio, are you meaning that the radio station presets are lost?

My bad, I guess. The word "Bose" is nowhere to be found. I guess I figured it sounded good, so it must be a Bose. I didn't even notice that it had a cassette!
By "reset," I mean that after every start, the radio has to be turned on, the band changed to FM, and the channel reset. There is no memory, and apparently no "hot" 12 volt feed to the radio when the ignition is off. It's like the battery was just installed every time it starts.
