Need to give gas to start. 96 165k auto

For the most part sits all summer and I drive it in the winter. Prior to today it's been driven about 100 miles the last 3 months.

-The first start of the day is ok, drive to work which is 5 miles away and park
-4hrs later I head out to lunch, needs a bit of gas to start.
-Drive to the post office 3 miles away, im in there for 10 minutes, car barely started and I definitely need to give it some gas or it didn't look like it was going to start.
-temp was 70 out this morning and 80 today

Drives 100% fine once it's going. Floored it down a back street and it pulls like it should. No obvious signs of power loss.

Thoughts?

letting it sit and only driving few miles to places drains the battery alot, and is not healthy for the car. need to give it a good 30 min ride every once in a while.

Are you adding fuel stabilizer when it sits for that long?

Sounds like the ECTS though.

Battery less than a year old, it was driven about once every few weeks this summer up until the last 2-3 months. Filled it up two weeks ago after it had been sitting for about 2 weeks. Old gas shouldn't be a factor.

I see you didn't acknowledge that I mentioned the ECTS.

Check it out with an ohm reader.

A hard starting WARM engine could be due to a bad ECTS as Fakie mentioned. Another cause could be a dirty IACV or malfunctioning IACV-AAC.

https://maxima.org/forums/4th-genera...g-dummies.html

The IACV-AAC is the air adjusting control solenoid within the IACV. The solenoid slides open fully for air intake during start up.
