00vi help drilling a32 lim

Does anyone have instructions for drilling 95 lim for a 00vi swap with pics? I've searched and all the pics are dead

Don't have any pics but the idea is to flip your 4th gen lower IM around 180 degrees then line up the 00VI over it. The slight mismatch in the drilled holes is where you would do the drilling work.

I just finished mine up a month ago. I had to fill the holes first, the new ones are drilled half where the old holes were. I wanted larger bolts, so I drilled out the front middle sleeves in the UIM to take 8mm bolts.

The LIM and UIM will not line up perfectly, but line them up the best you can, the LIM will be larger. Just have the UIM hang over each side evenly. I thought about porting it to match, but somewhere on the .org someone has tried it and said it didn't do anything.

Once it's lined up, clamp it on either side and mark the holes. I spray painted a small paint brush and painted the bottom of the holes. Worked fine. Once done, drill and tap. I was worried it wouldn't seal with only four bolts, so I added the back two middle bolts. Sealed great the first time. Any questions you have PM me and I can walk you through it.

Second Note:
I grabbed a LIM from the junkyard so I could do the drilling/tapping at my leisure. I took the cheap way out and JB welded the holes shut. I didn't have any cracking problems, and since the holes are not in the intake channels itself, I don't have to worry about part of it cracking and getting sucked in, like on the swirl valves of the 5th gen LIM.

It took three days to get the LIM filled, drilled and tapped. I could have done it in a couple hours if I had the holes welded shut. It takes 12 hours for JB Weld to dry. The quick weld is not as strong, so I didn't want to chance it.

Yea I got that part but I'm guessing you just use the upper as a guide to drill down so you have a straight hole?

Exactly. After I filled the holes, I sat the uim on top of the lim and lined the ports up. I had a drill bit long enough to pass through the uim bolt holes to make drill points on the lim. After making the drill points on the lim I took the uim back off and drilled the holes in the lim to the depth I needed, followed by helicoil. I only have the four inner bolts on the im with black gasket maker, and have no leaks. I used helicoil 8mm and a 1/4 inch drill bit IIRC

I flipped the lower, enlarged the holes on the upper and used two inner and two outer holes like the stock upper. I did not drill the lower at all and it all lined up.

The holes lined up, but werent the ports offset?
I was going to leave the front two alone, but I saw how much the UIM and LIM were offset each other. Unless you just drilled out the UIM enough to make it fit?
