new cattback is clicking after i run it.....
well, i know it's getting colder out at night and in the morning. but even in the daytime with normal temps the cattback it clicking while running and after running turned off really loud. if the rear b-pipe is too close to the car, (touching) will it cause any problems? ie, burning the undercoating off or this clicking noise?? just never heard this before when i had the first one done almost 8 years ago. comments, answers appreciated ps, i also noticed a bit of vibration at idle like a have a truck or race car underneath drivers seat that i never felt before

no, it's making really loud clicking noises, normal light ticking noises i would expect but my mechanic just confirmed that the one pipe they bent is bent wrong. guess i'm going back to the shop to see what they can do about it.

Depends on materials used for the catback! If it's clicking when you first approach it after setting all night, then yes there's a problem! But if the clicking is going on during running or after running during it's cool down period, there's no issue... Just the system cooling down and contracting back to normal size! Check you're clamps for security if you're concerned! I've installed more than a dozen exhaust systems ("new") and they all do this!

welp, went back to the shop and they confirmed that the "clicking" is coming from the resonator and the muffler. he said some clicking he would expect but mine is louder than usual which i've never had exhaust do before.

My cattman had a noticeable tink tink tink (like water or a screw dropping on something metallic) after I turned my car off, just charged it to the game and never worried about it.
