Ok so under the car on the exhaust, in between the y-pipe and the catalytic converter is a small section of pipe with a o2 sensor in it. Any body know the part number for the oem one or better?

The pipe your referring to should be behind the catalytic converter not in front of it.

What year is your car?

Center tube for mounting the downstream O2 sensor

20031-0L700 (07/1996 – 06/1997)

20031-0L710 (06/1997-06/1999)

No CA emissions exhaust nor 1995 models carried that center tube.

As stated by jholley, the part number is 20031-0L710. The parts book name is "Tube Assy-Exhaust, Center". The list price is $86, but you can get it for around $65.

Personally, if I needed one of these, I would pm Maxima_Joe and get a used one from him. (see post # 2)

^ +1

I wouldn't spend $65 on that small exhaust piece neither. I'd either buy a used piece for half the price or get an extended resonator (b-pipe) that reaches the CAT.

If your resonator is in poor condition check out aftermarket ones that are extended with a downstream O2 sensor mounting bung.

REPI961105 $109

286159 $119

Hit this link then search for 'REPI961105'

http://www.discountexhaustsystems.com

Aftermarket B-pipes were extended to reach the CAT to illuminate that tube exhaust. I had to grind my downstream O2 sensor off it when I replaced it with a b-pipe at ~130,000 miles.

I just received a call from www.discountexhaustsystems.com regarding the BOSAL resonator I purchased back in November, 2009. The BO286159 resonator I purchased is lifetime warrantied so they'll be shipping a new one for free. I only have to pay for the return of the defective resonator. It rusted and cracked at a 90 degree corner due to the highly salted hills I drive during the winter. I'll spray several layers of ceramic exhaust paint before I install the new resonator.

I paid $110 for the BO286159 back in 2009 but they are selling it for $150 today.

http://www.discountexhaustsystems.co...&events=search

They have a 'Low Price Guarantee' so they'll match the $119 Amazon is selling it for.

EDIT:

www.rockauto.com is also selling the 286159 resonator for only $109.

They work for me.

The only problem with Courtesy Nissan is that they don't give you the actual, true Nissan part number.

compare -

20031-A32B002 - the number from Courtesy Nissan.
20031-0L710 - the real part number used by Nissan.

Courtesy is wonderful because you get the parts diagrams and other helpful things. But if you are going to buy the part from anywhere else, the number you get from Courtesy is useless.

If you haven't ordered anything to replace that exhaust tube then check this out

http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/199...aust_pipe.html

Just found that Walker makes that aftermarket center tube exhaust piece for $37.
