Can I Remove/Replace Switches For Heated Seats From The Top?
My passenger seat no longer heats up. (The fuse is ok). I accidently spilled some soda on the switch a couple years ago and it now feels "slushy" when I move the switch...so I'm guessing that's the problem. Can I remove/replace the switch from the top with a screwdriver/pliers, or do I have to remove the whole console? (it's a 1995 Maxima SE)
Thanks in advance for any replies!

You could use a very small flat head scew driver to wedge it out. However you run the chance of damaging the switch and scratching the console. I would remove the console itself, I believe it's only four screws that hold it in place very easy to do. Overtime were the switches sit, a lot of debris and dirt get trapped beneath them and causes it to get sticky and when it comes time to remove them it can be very difficult.

Pull the cup holder straight up. Reach under there and push the switches out. Simple. I've done it a couple of times when someone, known as my wife slopped some beverage into the switches and made them difficult to rock back and forth. They are in large part "serviceable" if you are careful.
