See you down the road...

After 6 years, my '98 Maxima SE, with 252K miles finally died . Well, to be exact, my automatic transmission died. I got excellent service and much enjoyment out of the old girl and sold her for $750 to a guy who planned on rebuilding the tranny himself.

I want to thank all of the members over the years who helped me better understand and enjoy my ride while it lasted. I owned a 2000 Sentra GXE as well as the '98 Maxima (both now sold) and I just purchased a 2014 Nissan Rogue SL (AWD) and love it! Nissan Rocks! I have been very impressed with Nissan's engineering over the years and look forward to driving the wheels off my new Rogue!

Once again, thanks for all the good memories and I wish all you Maxima lovers the best!

ah well done, thats quite alot of miles, and probably still had many more if u repaired the transmission, If i were in that situation I would of probably rebuilt it... I'm only 133k on mine.

And have fun with your new car, although its expensive to own it the first year and its price drops alot.. But heck you do what u like.

Glad you were a part of the 4th Gen maxima community. Maybe see you again next time down the road

dude, i got 264,000 on my 20 y/o maxima and did the trans at 259,000. unless you had other problems stacking up then you could've done a tranny swap for that much. i'm planning on doing my motor mounts next week, just did all new brakes and exhaust as well as tires and 3 02 sensors and an injector. i don't quit, i and i don't want a car payment.

I understand where you are coming from. I hadn't had a car payment in 22 years till this year. All the new technology and the "new car smell" finally got to me.

bleh lol, its just more of a distraction for the driver with all the new technology, all ya need is a car that is fun to ride..thats what a car is all about. technology doesn't belong in a car :P. A/C, radio, steering wheel, black leather, sunroof, heated seats and nice runnin car that looks good is all ya need!

but I guess after 22 years of no car payment, I guess it was time for ya.
