maf sensor code
Hello. I have a 1999 i30t auto.
So I've completed the 00vi swap.
With a tune.
She runs good for the most part, power improvement is very noticeable.
Currently the problem I'm having is I get a p0100.
A code pertained to the mass air flow sensor being an issue.
My original one she would hesistate throughout high rpms.
Then I got another one through the junk yard that one perform okay but still had the code.
I replaced It again.
I even checked the harness the sensor is getting power, has good ground, and giving the correct signal.
I really hope its not because I'm cali spec and have the tune wired in.
I have emmisions coming up and need to pass...
Anyone have any advice plesse

I to am in Cali and know about the tight emission test. I had a problem with my maf sensor on my 2000. I replaced it many times then found out about the spray you can get to clean it. I did it every time I got an oil change. Never had a problem with it again.

back to basics
I'm not sure what's going on exactly but the Ecu will thro a fault is it's not getting the exact parameters it needs. The set-point values are outside range so ecu sets a fault.
Wiring all ok from pigtail to ecu? Have you tried a new maf? Never buy a used one.
dont recommend a used maf but sometimes u get a good condition one.
U should go new as the hot wires and its circuit do wear.

Well this is my 3rd one.
The wiring is fine.
Now if the person the did the tune on the vafc could this cause the code to pop up?
I wouldn't expect for him to make a mistake since he had one before and a maxima before.
Also I kinda suspect the iac playing a part in this. I'm running a 5th gen throttle body assembly.
And sometimes when I left off the gas the rpms will drop as low as 200...

Yes I can rev over 2.5k rpms.
And I replaced the sensor 3 times already.
So I noticed that on my tuner the throttle percentage was way off.
I didn't get a reading till about 3/4 throttle.
So I read the throttle adjustment procedure.
And specs were way off.
So with the tune it see's the position of the throttle and adjust the maf signal accordingly.
So I adjust it, she seems to have a bit more power.
But I still have the code

Did you reset the ecu? Not trying to talk down to you, just making sure you reset it.
EDIT:
- Check for intake leaks
- Check the wiring of that air fuel controller
-Check the In-Out numbers (like 1-1, or 4-5). I forgot what this is exactly called, slips my mind at the moment.

Yes, I clear the light every time.
As for the tune on the in/out I have it set to 4.
That's what the 00vi swap manual said I should do.
There are no vacuum leaks.
If the iac valve was acting up could it cause a code like that to pop up?
The idle at times dip too 3
200 rpms then slowly climbs back up.
