Can the egr valve be serviced/cleaned i asking because a have cleaned the tube and just want to do some preventive maintenance.
I am sure it has some carbon build up.

I thought there was a write up but that was for cleaning the egr tube.

Yes you can clean egr valve assuming you can take it out, I tried, but I wasn't able to loosen the big nut so I gave up, on thing you can try, start engine, put you right hand under egr vale and left hand pulling throttle cable or throttle pulley to ramp up engine rpm, if you feel egr valve is pumping the it is good.

Ifs its never been done before I would just replace the ERG valve while you're in there cleaning the guide tube. Thats what I did with mine.
