Mass Air Flow Sensor on a 1997 Maxima.
Hi, does anyone know what the name of the part is that the Mass Air Flow Sensor sits on top of? The rubber is torn on the side going toward the air filter box. Also are the Mass Air Boot and Air Intake Boot the same part? Please help if you can.

Hi, I am selling a oem original mass air flow sensor for a 1997 Nissan maxima with a brand new rubber boot which is called the insulator boot which goes on the mass air flow sensor. I am selling both of them for 70.00 on ebay. Here's the link. http://www.ebay.com/itm/331563031437?item=331563031437&viewitem=&vxp=mtr

You don't have to by the plastic part the MAF sensor sits in, the rubber duct is available separately. But Nissan calls it the MAF and it comes with the sensor.
The name used for the part seems to be different for each manufacturer.
The Nissan parts book calls the one that is on the air filter box side "Insulator-Air Duct" and is Nissan part # 16523-31U00, MSRP $9.32
The oother one on the throttle body side is called "Air Duct" and is Nissan Part # 16578-31U00, MSRP $40.98.
