Immobilizer bs again...need help with wiring harness
Ok guys im tired of this immobilizer bs. I was thinking of just buying a 95 to 97 wiring harness and ecu and go to town. With that said should i or not im cali spec 99 auto and should i just buy a 96 ecu and repin or not. Also im going boost soon as soon that mula hits the bank but need this bs fixed first. Opinions or suggestions? Last time it did this i replaced the immbolizer sensor on the steering and it fixed it till now 3 years later. Also before this all happened i lost all charging from my alternator went and bought a new one and not even 2 days later it kicked the bucket and keep in mind past 2 years the dash has been funky as in quit working it was getting stuck in gears but soon as the gauges started working properly trans would shift out fine so i figured the ecu could have been the culprit the whole time. Lmk what you guys think

Yea thats what im shooting for is 95 or 96 you think it youd be best to try and land a 95 or 96 wiring harness as well or just repin my 99 wiring to a 95 or 96 ecu? Either way is gonna be a pain in the *** we all know that but just fishing for ideas mainly lol cant let this keep my girl down

I have a early production automatic maxima Ecu and harness. Production date of 94 no emissions crap. No purge valve no cannister nothing. Honestly re-pinning can be a real pita if you dont know what your doing. It would probably take you the same amount of time swapping in another harness.

I installed a by-pass wire in my 1996 a long time ago. No issues. The alarm might not be effective any more, but that's my choice.
I did not modify or even touch my Ecu
Our cars aren't as desirable now as they were when they are new.
In case any one is interested, I can post directions.

Anyways after looking at each ecu pins theres quite a few that needs moving. I can do this but will be time consuming im sure but what do i do about bcm that has wires running into it for nats? If i do the re pin does it not mess with duen to nats being gone or what. I'll have to think thisnover might just try to find a 95 ecu and engine harness and go from there lol also what about certin pins that the 95 dont use anything but my 99 does can inuse those blanks or not.

Don't waste your time replacing an entire harness which may take you a couple of hours to a day or more. Get a 95 96 ecu. Moving pins took me and a friend a matter of about an hour and the car was up and running with no NATS. As far as I know there is only one wire for the NATS and that one is simply cut and removed and I reused it for the fuel pump. Read carefully the instructions, print out the ecu pinouts available from here => http://www.nicoclub.com/nissan-service-manuals
and it should work.
and it should work.

That's not a lot... Trust me it's way easier to swap 6 pins than it is an entire engine harness.
EDIT:
to answer your question, yes the 99ecu does have more 'stuff' than the 95ecu. Meaning the stuff that isn't needed by the 95 won't be used/recognized. But you still retain OBDII compliance with 95. And you don't need to do anything with the bcm a few have already done the swap on automatics with success.
