Please recommend low cost MAF

I bought an EBay MAF about five years ago and got somewhat lucky because it lasted that long. The dealer is no longer to be found.

Please recommend a specific source for a MAF, based on your personal experience that the MAF from the dealer actually works.

Thanks!

My best source for a good OEM MAF is a wrecking yard. I have had good results there.

Buy the new updated version of the MAF sensor from ebay. It doesnt have those problems like the original did because I bet they probably fixed them. Also this maf originally came with nissan skyline. 22680 31U05 A36-608 E61. If your gonna buy a maf only buy original otherwise it will not work and you will have issues. The model number I gave you is the new updated version of the maf sensor and what the dealer sells for 500.00. On ebay its selling for 99.00. Dont buy the 22680 31U00 A36-608 E60 model as that is the older model that comes with originally with our cars and has issues.

Or you could order an OEM one on eBay for about $30. Worked perfectly for me

The only ones worth buying are Bosch and Beck/Arnley.

Bosch part #63128, will likely run $150-200. It's a reboxed OEM MAF. I wouldn't buy one from the junkyard since MAF failure is common on these cars. I don't like to buy common failure items at the junkyard.

I bought a Bosch on Rock Auto, and it's fantastic. Made in Japan.

Like what others have already suggested, I think you would want to get a MAF from a local junk yard. I have had experience with a brand new aftermarket MAF. While it did help to correct my issues at the time, the car didn't run as well IMHO as when I purchased a used OEM MAF from the junkyard.

The only concern I would raise though, if you can find the number to the junk yard maybe you may want to give them a call first before traveling out there if it is out of the way. This way they could help you to identify if they any MAFs in stock or if they recently got 4th gen Maximas in. I say this because usually the MAFs is one of the first goodies to go in a pull-it-yourself junkyard. Good luck!

Tried the Ebay one once recently.....died same day....lucky I had my old one that still worked but for 30 bucks why not try A new one and keep it as A reserve just incase that day comes again.....big waste of $$$ and learned my lesson......when I changed my first MAF I used the Autozone updated one and they price matched it for me (nice manager)with Rock autos price that I printed and bought as proof to em....saved 70$$ back in the day as it was like 140 .....now its the same price anyway.....still need A reserve.....so them ebay ones are hit or miss IMO.

Good for you, Maxride 41.

Shows how long junkyard mafs might last.
