Stuck in a rut
Unlock my door from outside through open window setting off car alarm, instead of turning off by locking unlocking door got in and attempted to start car hoping to shut alarm off, car started but alarm continued, shut car off alarm still going off but now key is stuck in ignition and not car will not start, able to shut off alarm with spare key but unable to start car or take key out at all. After looking over owners manual it appears I've been immobilized tried off 5 sec on 5 sec repeat no fire. Any advice?

For future reference, put the year in the description/ intro post. The 99 year is the only model that has the immobilizer, so including this information would have been good from the start.
Heres a thread with alot of information on it:

It looks like you may have to get it reprogrammed by either a dealer or locksmith.
Lock smith would be the cheaper route.

I have a 99 & I haven't had any immobilizer problems yet. I did get a Viper alarm installed & had the auto lock when the key is in the Ignition, turned off. I remember reading something on here about making sure the driver door is unlocked & closed before you start the car!
