Yellowing headlights on side view?

Hello members, I have had notice my passenger headlight has been getting a little yellow when looking at a certain angle.. Keep in mind both of my headlights are OEM, the driver headlight looks brand new, but not so much for my passenger headlight.. I originally purchased the passenger with a little yellow streaks on the headlight, got it cleaned about 9 months ago. but didnt touch the drivers as it looked brand new, no yellow looks at any angle.. but I'm not sure if the yellow is coming from the inside? When I look straight at it, its not as yellow..but can tell its not crystal clear like my drivers side.

I purchased a passenger TYC headlight on ebay for $20.. but I heard the headlight output is not great as oem so for now its just sitting in my room. Also the material is cheap inside and fall out? I heard eagle eyes too.. the fitment is not so great too? just some thoughts?

will some headlight restoration fix my yellow issue? it only looks yellow when looking at this angle... let me put some pictures.. not sure if its yellowing inside. Or needs more work, cause when I got it cleaned it only cleared off the yellow streaks on the headlight, just now it remains a bit yellow after 9 months.

I would swap in the tyc headlight, thats what i have on my car, with the combo of fog lights. The light output is great i have Sylvania ultra bulbs with Sylvania silver star fog light bulbs. The only issue is the black housing where the headlight sits in. I swapped over the housings to OEM to avoid fitment issues. Its fairly easy to detach the housing you have to pull it apart. Had these on the car for over 3 years in all weather conditions. imo these are just as good as OEM and have proven to stand against the test of time. And they are ridiculously cheaper.

Now that's what I need to get it to, clean like that on my passenger side.. Gonna try what turbo said and see if it's clean enough, if not then I will try the tyc headlights but more would like to keep it all OEM

Fixed ... I think.

Use an old white t-shirt/under-shirt to apply everything except the Carnuba. For that use the provided applicator sponge.

Old white t shirt to apply? Ha you're crazy! I only use Microfiber applicators when detailing anything. Thanks for fixing it, all pictures show up now.

I'm absolutely serious.

Go ahead and apply everything with a microfiber.

When you've decided you're unhappy with the result after all of the effort and you're swearing out loud and cursing my name because you perceive I've steered you wrong, use the t-shirt.

Then tell me I'm crazy.

Keep in mind ... you're essentially wet-sanding but with the use of moderate to mild abrasive paste products.

A microfiber does not allow the abrasive properties of the products to contact the plastic lenses to the level needed. Microfibers, based on their thickness, softness and absorptive nature simply absorb the paste. The t-shirt material keeps the abrasives on the surface of the fabric.

You're not detailing your lenses ... you're sanding them.

Use the microfiber to remove the products.

Use the t-shirt to apply.

Get a set of 95/96 (OEM) headlights. They are glass, so they won't yellow

Interestingly, the I30 always had plastic headlights, even the early models when the Maxima had glass lights.

I had the tyc headlights on my old max and fitment was good, output was really great and they even came with bulbs but they needed to do need to be aimed properly. I tried matching my old headlight screw to the tyc and still had weird aim but tbh I only went at it for about 10 minutes anyway

This is what I use. Most of the time you'd need only polishes 1 & 2.

I also use this mandrill and foam polishing pad (Black Foam Pads only). Different pad for each step. Look for a similar mandrill and black foam kit only at a better value.

But ultimately, the frequency of re-doing them increases and the time comes to replace them. After all.... How old are 4th gen Maximas?

Got it cleaned, used all the products turbo link provided, here are the results, no yellowing anymore, at any angle. Nice and no yellow headlights again. There may be some reflection on the headlight, so that's to be expected. But In person, no more yellow anywhere.

Very nice.

Keep an eye on them though.

I find that I need redo mine about every 4 months or so.

Also, you might want try flip-flopping the order of application of the aluminum polish and the polishing compound to see which gives you the finish you like best.

Another product that works really well for removing the yellow is Brasso ...

This, as I recall, can be used in place of the rubbing compound.

If this is used, go easy at first ... it's surprisingly abrasive.
