Ignition coil boot stuck on snapped plug

Was trying to replace an ignition coil that I knew had a ripped rubber boot. Well pulled the coil out and the boot is stuck around the spark plug and the tip of the plug snapped. I cannot for the life of me get the socket to connect to anything. It's obviously way far down with a lot of extensions. Tips?

i had this happen to me, get some kind of metal "toothpick" something along those lines and try to get the hook on the rubber boot and pull its way up. it should come out.

Got it! However the plug is still stuck. Any tips to get it out?

Edit. There are so many crushed pieces of the plug around the nut that I can't get to it with the socket

Depending on if it's the front or back valve cover one or two extensions and the deep spark plug socket should do it it worked for me. If the plug is already needing to be replaced you can't hurt if so just put a little pressure on the socket and I'll grab it.

It's broken, so yes it needs replaced. I've been hammering the socket in their. It won't grab.

I don't believe a magnet will work with porcelain

So what your saying now is that you cant get a good grip on the nut of the spark plug because the shreds of coil pack boot are preventing it from making contact?

Yes. However I got the boot out but the top half of the plug is crushed into pieces around the bottom half of the plug blocking the nut. I'm going to try a shop vac but it's a deep hole so not sure how it'll work.

If you have an air compressor you can probably blow the pieces out. Wear safety glasses. Don't want a piece of porcelain in the eye
