Oh my goodness......

I recently kept getting the relentless P1320 code because of my 99 coils. I would clear the code & keep it moving. But I was hit with the "multiple misfire" code & I knew I was doomed. The car would misfire, rough idle & stall. A recipe for disaster.

So I bought 6 coils from an org member & decided to pick up spark plugs too. I figured "6 NGK G Power platinum plugs for $20 on eBay? Can't go wrong" So I replaced all the coils in the car & tried to fire it up. The same problems kept happening. I was stumped. I talked to the guy who sold me the stuff & he said it might be the plugs. Sooooo I told him I had G powers & he said noooooooo you need laser plats or coppers.

After a few org searches & Amazon searches & $360 dollars later, I bought 3 of these for the rear: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Bought 3 of these for the front: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And I bought 6 of these (Expensive but worth it) plugs to replace while I'm at it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As I was replacing the spark plugs, I pull the old ones out & it said "Bosch." I didn't even finish reading it, I throw it down immediately. I finished up on all the plugs & coils, started her up & went for a drive with my girl.

Boi, I should've have done this when I first got the car (A year ago). BEfore when I pressed on the gas, I would get a delay & then power, Now it's just instant power. I can't believe how much of a difference that made. I HIGHLY advise EVERYONE going through my situation to do the same, if you have the money to do so. Not expensive but not cheap either.

I wanted to say thanks to the org & it's members too! With out this website, ,my car wouldn't be what it is today, one of the VERY few clean 4th gen Maximas in SoCal hahaha

common thing to replace on any car imo, especially the coils on a 99. i've only replaced 1 hitachi coil in over 11 years in my 95 and i'm at 277,600 and just did the platinum plugs as well. car still runs great even with an oil leak ( or 2) and a little rust edging up the rear quarter again. o and "rookie"

Had to replace the coils on mine back in June, was trying to figure out the problem for a month.. Bought those hitachi coils and they work like a charm still to this day after 2 months. No codes thrown at all.

There is a certain feeling of satisfaction when a dyi repair results in a car which runs much better.

L.Jay, we all start out as rookies. Keep reading and learning on this forum, then try various repairs.

Our cars are fairly easy to work on, and this is a very good forum.

I'm still occasionally getting the P1320 code every now & then. I checked the coils, connections, made sure the spark plugs were gapped & torqued right. Still can't figure out the issue. Any input would help

Best to just buy injectors & replace them or getting them serviced?

I've never had to deal with injectors but if I were to go about doing them, I would pull a set out of a JY, get them serviced, and swap them out because i'm the type that likes to get things going quickly

I'd buy fully refurbished and serviced injectors off of Ebay. Cheaper, quicker and no down time.

Whether you rebuild your own injectors or purchase rebuilt injectors is up to you.

Either way, it's a good idea to replace the entire set should there be a reason to remove the uim.

Injectors can leak through the pintle caps, or just get loaded with crud ,which messes up the spray pattern.

I figured because I do smell fuel occasionally. I'll replace them soon

The injectors leak into the engine. doubt that could be smelled.

it's possible that your fuel lines are seeping a bit.

replace those as well.

use fuel injection hose. it can handle higher pressure than ordinary gas hose.
