Did wife trip the immobilizer? 99 max

So the wife left the lights on in the car and ran the battery dead after three hours. She then tries to start, obviously no go. So she calls up friend for a jump, but tried a few more times. Guess there still was not enough juice to jump. Friend charges for 30 min, better, car turns but will not start.

I come back and see the famous security light on red while trying to crank the car.

Question is: is the immobilizer triggered? If so, I removed the battery negative terminal. Can that reset tomorrow morning?

The keys are good with no damage and we have two pairs of it.

The security led being on means that the NATS immobilizer is active.

Here is a sequence from the FSM that MAY (emphasis on may) turn NATS off:

a) Leave the ignition key in “ON” position for approximately 5 seconds.
b) Turn ignition key to “OFF” or “LOCK” position and wait approximately 5 seconds.
c) Repeat step 1 and 2 again.
d) Restart the engine while keeping the key separate from any others on keychain.
