tire pressure check in winter

just fyi for some of you guys, tire pressure in the winter has to be checked every week or bi-weekly if you live in northern or cold states. i keep mine at 35 psi and i just had the car sit for a week and my tires were down 3-4 pounds each. you'll get better gas mileage and your max will ride much better at the proper inflation.

But sometimes it's okay to run your tires a little under pressure in heavy snow conditions...for better traction. I tend to keep mine at 30-32 psi.

However, that seems to be an opinions/myth. Having lots of tread and not over inflating seems safer.

It really depends on just how cold it is. And the condition of the roads. If it's blizzarding/icy, I keep mine a little low (32/33) and put it back to 35 once things clear up. It's just gonna drop anyways lol

When I lived up north in the snow, I ran the same pressure summer and winter. I did try lowering the pressure, but I couldn't detect any difference, so I quit doing it.

i'd rather run through snow a little lower in the front and keep the rears at 35. i feel this helps with the snow drift yo!!!

That's no fun! I had last Saturday off so I went to the gym real early. It was basically a blizzard out with the lake effect. I got there before the gym opened and no one was in the lot so, I had a little fun lol
