Is 10W-30 ok?

I am an idiot. I accidentally used the wrong box that we have in the garage that has the Mobile1 10W-30 oil instead of the 5W-30. The car is full now and is ready to drive but I am wondering if it's better to flush the oil and use the 5W-30 or just leave the 10W-30 and drive it as it is.

Thanks

It's absolutely fine to keep the M1 10W30 in it, don't worry about it.

Synthetic or conventional? Either way I'm sure it will be ok. Just may have some dry starts if its conventional and the weather is really cold.

If you live in a VERY cold (sub-zero) climate area, you may want to stick with the 5w-30. If you don't, 10w-30 won't hurt a bit.

I use 10w-30 or 10w-40 with no problems at all in northwestern New Jersey.

If you are still in doubt, check with your owner's manual.

It is synthetic. I use only that. I live in Chicago and we've only had a few days of sub-zero windchill (not the temp itself). As far as the manual goes it says 5W-30. But I guess I'll just have to do with it.

By the way how often do you guys change the oil.

Since it's M1, you won't really notice a difference between the 5W-30 and 10W-30. If it were a conventional, I would have drained it.

I go for my oil change roughly when it says on the sticker on my windshield. About every 3,000miles or so.

For synthetic you don't need to go as often. Just a waste of money.
