How much does it cost to paint an entire car a different color?
Just a curiosity question, but what if after a couple of years I decided to paint my car black instead of white. Let's assume that no body work is needed. Just to respray with the same quality paint and clearcoat.

John- This was a total curiosity question..... I've got a lot more things to waste money on than paint.

For just the outside and no interior like door sills and under the hood you are looking at about $2000 to $2500 for a decent shop. With door sills, underside of trunk lid, trunk, and under hood you are probably talking about $4000.
I just had my hood, front fenders, trunk lid, and spoiler painted for $950 cash. The credit price was $1200. But they did a damn good job and use the high quality stuff.

I'd have to agree thats it's going to cost alot of $$$ to get a *quality* job done right...
For proper paint cureage, you'd best be sanding down original pant to bare metal, undercoating the metal, primering it and then shooting it with like 1-2 coats for a THOROUGH job...
quite costly and time consuming. Plus you'll want your door jambs and engine bay painted too which involves removal of engine.
you're prob looking at like $4k-$10k for a quality job

I basically meant that I wouldn't want a $300 Maaco job with no clearcoat.
