I have been searching and searching with no solution. I am getting a p0110 which is a IAT sensor, a p0500 which is a speed sensor code, and a rough idle. I don't think the the two codes would make the car run rough. I have checked all the coils, spark plugs, and MAF, they are all working fine.

I am going to get a new speed sensor and IAT sensor but will this take care of the rough idle?


I am lost, don't know where else to check. Please Help!!!

Now I got a p0406 code on the way home today, and car still running like crap. Does anybody know what is causing all these codes? Thanks

P0110 is the intake air temperature sensor
P0500 is the vehicle speed sensor
P0406 is the EGR sensor

The rough idle may be from the P0110 IAT sensor problem. This can be causing the engine to run either too rich or too lean.

The EGR sensor itself may be bad or the EGR valve could be bad or the connecting tube could be plugged. Depending on the failure, this could also cause rough idle.

The P500 VSS problem is the least of your problems. It may cause speedometer problems and I think the cruise control won't work. But it gives you a check engine light, so you should fix it.

Thanks...I fixed everything but now I got a p0300 (random Misfire). Could it be possible that driving around with the other codes could have messed up the plugs or should I wait to get a code for a cylinder?

unplug your coils one at a time while the engine is running to figure out what cylinder is giving you a problem. When you unplug the coil of the problem cylinder the idle will not change...all of the other properly running cylinders should cause the idle to get worse when unplugged.

Did that today and found out the the coil on cylinder 5 was bad....changing out tomorrow

Okay I changed out the coil and all the plugs but I am still getting p0300. The idle is still rough and I have no power. I retested the coils and all the plugs are brand new.

Will the MAF or PCV cause this?

Are you sure it's not the injector on that cylinder? Usually the coil is the problem, but a dead injector will also cause a misfire on a cylinder. Since you pinpointed the cylinder I would check the injector next...after that I would check compression.

Yeah it is not the injector on that cylinder....I did the cylinder test and they all seem to be fine but I still have the p0300. Compresssion test is next. I am also going to check the ECM relay, maybe it is bad or loose.

ECM is fine. Would a Vaccuum Leak or a IM leak cause this code? I guess next step is a Compression Test.

NO. the ECM is "monitoring" the electrical operation of the coils for code P0300. Code P0300 will not happen for vacuum leaks of fuel injector problems.

You could try moving your coils around (change cylinder) and see if you can make the mis move.


*also, I am not sure about that specific code, but I have had multiple vehicles throw a misfire code from and injector or a compression problem.*

Would a clogged EGR cause this? I am taking the TB and UIM off right now
